This is one of my favorite pictures! It’s from our Rally against Childhood Hunger in support of better school meal policies on the Peninsula. Our Action Squad spoke up at school board meetings and during the General Assembly session to get the changes we needed, and it worked. That’s what happens when we organize. Now, we are working on building healthier communities, our physical and mental health, financial security, and public safety. In order to continue our fight, we’re taking the summer to get more information on the issues. Our Summer Series of virtual town halls will cover a range of issues impacting our community, and the first one starts with Voting Rights. We are partnering with Ivy Baptist Church and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. – Lambda Omega Chapter for the series, and we hope you’ll join us on May 25th to kick things off right.
