A resident of Hampton Roads, Simone Sibley is driven to uplift, serve and advocate for her community. Passionate and engaged, Simone has worked with a local nonprofit to provide case management and mental health resources to those in need. She also learned how to plan and fundraise for small community events, bringing awareness to mental health issues and promoting local entrepreneurs through journalism. While volunteering with other community initiatives, Simone has been humbled through her experiences of creating self-esteem workshops for youth, facilitating empowerment workshops for women and encouraging teens through Delegate Marcia Price’s and Reverend Vernon Woodard’s Teen Summer Leadership Academy. Simone graduated from Spelman College with a B.A. in Psychology and now works as a Community Organizer with the Mental Health Interest Group with VA BLOC.
